Terms of Use
Please read these before creating an account or using the community features. They are written in plain English.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Respect The Body Pty Ltd (ABN 54 686 682 860) ("Respect The Body", "we", "us") about using the Respect The Body app. By creating an account or using the community features, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use those features. Questions: support@respectthebodyapp.com.
Who can use the app
You can use the app for your own training. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. The community features (leaderboards, followers and group runs) are only for people aged 18 or over.
Health comes first
The app gives general fitness information, training plans and estimates such as distance, pace and calories. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose or treat anything. Check with your GP before starting a new exercise program, especially if you are pregnant, have an injury or manage a health condition. Stop if something hurts, and listen to your body.
Your account
Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from the You tab.
Community rules
Be respectful. You must not post or send anything that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexual, violent, misleading, spam, or that shares someone else's private information. Don't impersonate anyone. Don't use the community to sell things or to contact people for reasons other than training. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
Reports, blocking and removal
You can report or block anyone. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours. We may remove content, cancel group runs, and suspend or remove anyone from the community or the app if they break these rules, without notice.
Meeting other runners and training buddies
Group runs and sessions with training buddies are organised by members, not by us. We don't check who people are. Meet only in busy public places, tell someone where you are going, run at a pace that is safe for you, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. You take part at your own risk, to the extent the law allows.
Coaches
If you join a coach with an invite code, they can set you workouts and habits, read your check-ins, message you, and see your training until you leave them. Coaches are independent and responsible for the advice they give you. A coach or gym can show their own logo, colours and welcome message in the app for the people they coach; that content is theirs and must follow these terms. Messages with your coach must follow the community rules above, and you can leave a coach or email us about one at any time.
Coach plans
Coaches and gyms can pay for a coach plan on our website. Plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars by our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the website; you keep coach access until the end of the period you have paid for. If a payment fails we will try again for a short time before coach access is paused. Founding coach offers are free or discounted for the time we agree with you in writing. We will give at least 30 days notice before changing the price of your plan. Your clients keep their own accounts and data if your plan ends; they simply stop seeing your brand and coaching tools until you return.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the app accurate and available, but GPS and estimates can be wrong and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer laws of the country you live in. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are important we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, but if you live in another country you keep any protections its laws give you that cannot be excluded.
